In order to increase its territorial knowledge, as well to increase the quality of decision making in what concerns territorial management, Lousada municipal authority started several efforts in order to create one of the first Portuguese geologic maps at the 1:25000 scale. Not only a simple representation of Lousada's geodiversity was produced, but also geoheritage was pinpointed and characterized. The support disclosed here is currently one of the bases of work of several projects of protection and environmental improvement in progress in Lousada.
