Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, https://doi.org/10.1029/2018GC008092 Serpentinite is influential to plate tectonics and the strength of faults, however the influence deformation textures have on the evolution of fault strength is poorly understood. Using a range of unsheared to sheared serpentinite outcrops I investigate the progression of deformation during the initiation of faults in serpentinite. This is complimented with a detailed clast size distribution analysis and a numerical model to query the bulk rheology and distribution of stress during deformation. This study demonstrates primary serpentinization textures impact the strength and development of faults throughout their history. completed Melosh, Benjamin
