Using a range of unsheared to sheared serpentinite outcrops I investigate the progression of deformation during the initiation of faults in serpentinite. This is complimented with a detailed clast size distribution analysis and a numerical model to query the bulk rheology and distribution of stress during deformation. This study demonstrates primary serpentinization textures impact the strength and development of faults throughout their history.</description><description descriptionType="Other">Supplement to: Melosh, Benjamin (2019): Fault initiation in serpentinite.
