Abstract:
Edited and raw ship-based multibeam data covering the TAG hydrothermal Field at 26°N, Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Raw multibeam data was acquired with a Kongsberg EM122 system at 12 kHz and is provided as Kongsberg vendor format /*.all/ files. The datasets also includes a Geotif of the edited bathymetric grid (in WGS84) with 30m resolution as well as a Geotif of the backscatter information (WGS84; 35m resolution). Edited multibeam data includes approved xyz-data (soundings; WGS84) and a gridded dataset (WGS84; resolution 30m).

Comment:
Data acquisition was performed using a multibeam sonar system Simrad EM-122 from Kongsberg. Raw data are delivered within Simrad current multibeam vendor format.
SIMRAD raw data can be processed i.e. with the software packages CARIS HIPS/SIPS, Caraibes, QPS Qimera or with the open source software package MB-System (http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/pi/MB-System/).
