Abstract:
Rio Grande Rise (RGR) is a broad elevation in the South Atlantic Ocean consisting of western and eastern parts, that in total measures about 874 km east-west by about 480 km north-south. There is a scarcity of available information to the scientific community and to address this, the Marine E-tech project has taken a holistic and interdisciplinary scientific approach to understand the oceanographic and geological environment of the rise. Here we present geophysical, geological, biological and physical oceanography dataset spanning a depth range from 640 to 2060 m acquired during a multidisciplinary scientific cruise to RGR in 2018.
