Abstract:
These are temperature, salinity and drift data of high spatial resolution obtained from two autonomous Seagliders in the upper 1000 m in the western Nordic Seas. The gliders were operated over several months in the summers 2014 and summer 2015 near the ice edge of the East Greenland Current to capture the near surface fresh water distribution.
The data were obtained in the framework of the project "Variation of freshwater in the western Nordic Seas" was conducted in the framework of the Research Group FOR1740: "A new approach toward improved estimates of Atlantic Ocean freshwater budgets and transports as part of the global hydrological cycle", (https://for1740.cen.uni-hamburg.de/index.php?id=2817) funded by the German Research Association (DFG).
