Abstract:
These data are a compilation of tritium concentration in all oceans and unpublished measurements in North-Atlantic Ocean.
Online database used for this work are the GLobal Ocean Data Analysis Project v2 (Olsen, et al. 2016), the World Ocean Database (Boyer, et al. 2013), Clivar & Carbon Hydrographic Data Office (CCHDO), GEOTRACES (Schlitzer, et al. 2018), North Atlantic Gyre Studies (Östlund 1984), Transient Tracers in the Ocean (Östlund and Grall 1987), and Pascal Bailly du Bois personal data. A total of 41 391 tritium concentrations are available in global ocean.
A comparison between each database was done in order to not take into account duplicate tritium measurements. Each tritium measurement of all databases was compared with other tritium databases in time, in space, in depth and in tritium concentration. If a tritium measurement is sampled less than one day, at horizontal distance less than 30 km, at depth than 100 decibars and with a difference of tritium concentration less than 0.1 TU, then this tritium measurement is considered similar to a preexisting measurement and not takes into account. Each tritium measurement considered as unique is then compared manually.
