Comment:
This dataset was generated in the frame of the co-operation between the Huinay Scientific Field Station (http://www.huinay.cl) and the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (http://www.awi.de). If you intend to work with this data set please do not hesitate to contact the authors to discuss cooperation possibilities.
The backside of common tiles was selected as substrate. Tiles have the following dimensions, length:height = 15:15 cm (225 cm2) and are fixed with two screws and washers to a PVC frame. The latter is connected to the wall with a stainless steel bolt. A square pattern on the tiles allows easy analysis of the percentage cover of species. This pattern has a size of 1.75 cm between the middle of adjacent ridges.
