The surface at the station were hummocks, covered with moss, peat and individual bilberry and blueberry bushes. The observation site is located in a relatively sheltered place from the wind.

The underlying surface is scree shale, sometimes coated bushes dwarf pine. The site is not protected from the effects of winds.
