a: The age uncertainty is the depth-related uncertainty in the reversals as determined across parallel holes at IODP Site U1337, but does not account for the actual duration of the reversal itself. Reversals have been shown to frequently occur over a few thousand years, with the shortest duration occurring at low-latitude sites, such as IODP Site U1337 (Clement, 2004).
