Comment:
Mean annual temperature, precipitation as well as potential evaporation calculated with the WebWIMP Modelling program (Matsuura et al., 2009) and aridity index calculated according to UNEP (1992). Hydrogen isotope ratios of precipitation are calculated from a global data set according to an algorithm developed by Bowen and Wilkinson (2002) and refined by Bowen and Revenaugh (2003) and Bowen et al. (2005). Elevation was received from a digital elevation model based on SRTM3 data (Michalak, 2004).
