Sediment depth is given in mbsf. Magnetostratigraphy from Norris et al. (1998) and Ogg and Bardot (2001) used for Site 1050; magnetostratigraphy for Eocene and biostratigraphy for Paleocene in Hole 1051A below 544 mbsf because resolution and extent of magnetostratigraphic chrons in Paleocene are uncertain (Norris et al., 1998; Ogg and Bardot, 2001). Magnetostratigraphy used for upper and middle Eocene, combination of magnetostratigraphy and nannofossils used below ~163 mbsf for Holes 1052A/E.
