Comment:
Data of Microstructure Profiler MSS026
Microstructure data was collected using a microstructure profiler MSS90D manufactured by Sea&Sun Technology in cooperation with ISW-Wassermesstechnik. The profiler was equipped with two shear sensors (airfoil), a fast temperature sensor (FP07), an acceleration sensor, tilt sensors and standard CTD sensors. For a detailed description of the instrument the reader is referred to Prandke and Stips (1998). The profiler was adjusted to descent at 0.5-0.6 ms-1. Noise levels of turbulent dissipation rates from the microstructure profiler are better than 1×10-9 W kg-1 for the MSS90D. Data processing is detailed in Hummels et al. (2013).
