Abstract:	During Leg 64, eight sites were drilled on a transect from young ocean crust to continental crust off Baja California, in the central part of the Gulf of California, where high sedimentation rates have prevailed over a currently active spreading center, and on the continental slope where hemipelagic sediments overlie continental crust.
