Abstract:
Based on comprehensive conjugate analysis of sediment cores by lithological, foraminiferal, diatom, oxygen isotope, and radiocarbon methods a correlation of Upper Quaternary Japan Sea sediments has been carried out. At the top of the studied section marker horizons have been distinguished: a boundary of carbonate and siliceous packets, an interlayer of volcanic ash. They have a wide areal distribution. Their age has been determined by the radiocarbon method. A map of sedimentation rates during late postglacial time is given.
