Comment:

Undisturbed sediment samples were collected using a multicorer (Barnett, Watson and Connelly (1984): 8 cores, i.d. 9.5 cm), penetrating 20‚Äì30 cm deep into the sediments. Upon recovery all cores were vertically divided into 5 layers: 0-1, 1-2, 2-4, 4-6, 6-10 cm depth.
