Comment:
Leaching of whole-rocks produces incongruent dissolution of Rb- and Sr-bearing phases. Thus, although the residue consists mostly of plagioclase, 87Rb/86Sr values may in part reflect the incongruent behavior. They are used only to provide a rough estimate for age correction. Lower Series samples (Flow 107, Dike 4, Flow 116) define an isochron age of 57.8 +/- 1.0 Ma.
