Comment:
Data quality assessed using two rock standards (WS-E and OUG-94). Reproducibility is within 2% of recommended values with the exception of MnO, Na2O and P2O5 for WS-E which were within <6% and TiO2, MnO, MgO and P2O5 for OUG-94 which were within 6.5% of the recommended values. Reproducibility of 3 abyssal peridotites (209-1272A-27R-2,78-88, 209-1272A-3R.1,28-38, 209-1274A-27R-1,130-140) from ODP Leg 209 (n=10, 19 and 20 respectively) had a 2 S.D. of less than 0.30 wt.% for all elements.
