Comment:
Sample 506 (1-23) is a hyalopilitic, fine-grained, highly vesicular basalt with rare plagioclase and clinopyroxene phenocrysts. It shows a 2-2.5-mm-wide black halo. Sample 507 (24) is a coarse-grained slightly vesicular, subophitic basalt. The sample has no black halo and appears to be completely fresh.
