MD02-2489 (MD022489) * Latitude: 54.390700 * Longitude: -148.921300 * Date/Time: 2002-05-23T00:00:00 * Elevation: -3640.0 m * Recovery: 29.8 m * Campaign: MD122 (IMAGES VII - WEPAMA) * Basis: Marion Dufresne (1995) * Method/Device: Giant piston corer (GPC) * Comment: Originally the site and core belonged to the cruise IMAGES VII WEPAMA but was postponed due to tight schedule. The core was then taken in 2002, during transit, preliminary to cruise IMAGES VIII MONA.
Comment:
SST were reconstructed from planktic foraminifera counts using the SIMMAX transfer function (Pflaumann et al., 2003). Calibration was performed by employment of the Atlantic database of GLAMAP 2000 (Pflaumann et al., 2003) to calibrate the compositions of North Pacific faunal assemblages to caloric summer SST at 10m water depth by means of the SIMMAX transfer function.
