Comment:
The data contain swath sonar bathymetry, acquired as part of the project MICROHAB during RV Meteor cruise M72/2 in february and march 2007. They were sampled using the multibeam sonar system Simrad EM-120 from Kongsberg, which operates on a frequency of 12 kHz, maximum swath width of 150 degree and 191 preformed beams. Mean sound velocity, as well as the sound velocity at the transducer, was gained from CTD sensor SVProbe profile measurements acquired during the cruise. Ship position was measured by DGPS (usually CNAV DGPS, but in the beginning of the cruise Simrad HS 50 GPS). The ships motion data are measured by Seatex MRU 5 (Pitch, Roll, Heading). The density and quality of depths were decreased during bad weather conditions. Raw data are delivered within Simrad current multibeam vendor format.
Raw multibeam sonar data, format SIMRAD EM-120 (RAW), packed with GZIP. One dataset contains a period of normally 30 minutes. SIMRAD raw data can be processed i.e. with the software packages CARIS HIPS/SIPS, Caraibes or with the open source software package MB-System (http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/pi/MB-System/).
