Comment:
Stack consists of 16 individual records in the period 1997-1800 A.D, before 1800 A.D. of 3 records. For the individual records of the accumulation rates see Oerter et al., (2000). To calculate composite records, the individual records were normalised (my=0 , Var=1) and stacked. Stack was multiplied by mean of standard deviations of the individual records and the regional mean is added. The three 1000-year records and the 16 records, which cover the last 200 years, were treated separately. To put them together, the shorter records were shifted do somewhat higher values for equal means in the overlapping time period.
