Estimates of relative species abundance of the nannoflora were made semiquantitatively by determining the percentage cover of a species per field of view at about 2400 X magnification. Abundance data are expressed as an estimate of calcite volume in order to calculate adjustments in delta18O due to non-equilibrium fractionation factors (vital effects) in various species.
